I never bought any newborn stuff. Just 0-3 month items. My daughter was 8lbs 10oz and 21 inches long. And while 0-3 month clothing was a little big on her she was fitting them perfectly by 2 weeks and out of most of them by 2 months old. I would have been the biggest waste of money for me to have bought newborn stuff for 2 weeks. If you want a few newborn items try getting them second hand so its not such a big deal if they only fit a few weeks.

Babies born at an average size of 7 pounds usually still swim in newborn clothing. My little guy was born 7 pounds 3 ounces, and was still in newborn clothing at 6-7 weeks, and he was average height and weight for his age.

my son was 8 lbs 13 oz. he wore newborn and/or 0-3 from the time he was born. he fit into his newborn cloths for 2 months. i wouldn't worry about not having the newborn ones. bigger cloths are nice cause you can use them longer and if your son has a big head they will fit over his head better. :)

My son was 11 Lbs and 15 Oz. at birth and he wore a 0-3 months for a while So I'd say Newborn would be the best bet but I wouldnt buy to many of them because they wont be in them long at all.

My daughter was 9lbs 4oz at birth (and they lose a little bit of their birth weight after their born). She was in newborn close for about a week and a half. I just had a handful of sleepers (cute ones for the daytime too) and that is what she wore. So if you can get a approximate weight guess from the Dr's that would be helpful. With your baby being born in June (depending on where you live) you could get away with a few onsies. Bring a light blanket to cover baby up. Good luck to you!

My baby was 6lbs and wore NB clothing until she was 8 lbs. Now she 11 lbs and starting to wear 3-6 mos. All babies are different though because of the height vs weight factor. Go ahead and buy about 5 nb outfits just in case but its okay to have 0-3 mos as well because they are not too much bigger.

Its hard because you dont know how big the baby will be but I thik your on the right track! Get some nb outfits so you are ready just in case! Congrats and welcome to mommie hood!! ;o)

My son was almost 7 lbs when he was born and my daughter was 7.5 lbs....They both wore newborn clothes for about the first 3 weeks and then they were in the 0-3 months....Maybe just get a couple of things, but not much in newborn size...They drown in the 0-3 month when they're first born, unless they were born big :)
