www.crutchfield.com great customer service and you get free items to help with the install and instructions on how to put it in. They have many brands,Kicker Alpine Polk Focal etc. Also you can put in the info on your vehicle and they'll show you what fits it. I'd check out the Polk Components decent price and they sound good( I have a set).

Will go online to Kicker, JL, Focal, I might add Soundstream, Memphis,R.F.ect .You can contact them by e-mail or phone ask them who is a Authorized dealer in your area. This way you now your getting the real items not fake. They will also cover your warranty . As for new speakers on a old radio sounding crapy that's just nonsense. A new radio would give you more options like the ability to play burned music. But put you new speakers in then decide if you need to change anything or not. Anyway the company's they will be happy to help you. I hope this helps .

sounds like you may have a speaker wire that is touching the frame of your car and shorting the system. Check your wiring.

What do you mean "authentic"??

JL is very good, my personal preference actually. Focal is also excellent. Kicker has a good competition record... they get extra loud, but their sound quality is nothing to brag about.

JVC makes some decent head units, like mid-entry level, good for the average consumer. They're not on par with the other brands you mentioned, but they're not all that bad either. Much better than the average "discount brand" (Boss, Pyramid, Power Acoustic, Jensen)

I wouldn't upgrade your speakers though, without also upgrading your head unit at the same time. New speakers can be great, but if they're still powered by the old crappy factory radio, they're going to sound like the old crappy factory speakers.

parallel wire them: wire the positives and negatives to the same terminal. channelwise, youd wanna bridge them (even though it says monoblock, they are supposed to be bridged).

Don't get Alpine... All they make is good head units...I'm not a fan of their audio... As far as best brands, it all depends on how much you're willing to spend so... If you need any help, you can I.M. or E-mail me on here.
