I bought a used car a few months ago and it had an Alpine CDA-7839 stereo installed in it. I wanted to listen to my iPod music through my car stereo, so I bought a few of those FM transmitters but found them to be too static-y. Someone told me that I should try to find an iPod connection cable to hook up to my car’s CD player, but the problem is, I don’t know with which cable the CDA-7839 would be compatible with, if any at all. I wasn’t sure where I would be able to find this information, so I came here! Any help is appreciated.

I have a 1997 Honda civic with a Kenwood Head Unit installed by Best Buy about 4 -5 years ago. The stereo was working fine, but about 2 weeks ago it just stopped working. What happens now is that the faceplate just flips over randomly. Occasionally there is a display on the screen for a few seconds but it is distorted. None of the buttons work and I am unable to eject the CD. I checked the fuse on the back of the unit and it looks fine. I also checked the fuse in my car underneath the dash and it looks fine as well. All connections look fine as well ( I diconnected and reconnected everything). Do you think the unit is just dead? Could there be another fuse? Should I go ahead and change the fuses anyway? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a normal 4gb ipod & my car stereo is a JVC KD-G720. Whenever I use a normal USB cable it says “Read “Fail” and I cant play my music. The ipod says its connected but the stereo just doesnt recongize the ipod or whatever. So do I need some type of special USB cable? And if so what is it called?
I’ve had 2 friends try their ipods with the norm USB cord & it didnt work. Problem is that the stereo was lrdy installed when I bought the car & I dont have the manual & etc so im kinda stuck with it unless I want to buy a new one (which I dont). And my ipod has a few protected files but majority of them r normal MP3 (thank u limewire)

When I’m playing a song through a cd or aux-in iPod, the stereo sound cuts out and my subwoofer continues to play the bass of the song. I’m an automotive electrician by trade and have ripped the entire audio systems wires out and re done them myself from scratch, radio works fine but gets no bass input from the subwoofer. Test lighted both connections on the sub and have a stable earth point and a positive feed into it. Amp doesn’t seem to have any problems that I know of, fuse is good connections are all ok. But still when I play music the song will cut out and the sub continues playing the bass notes of the track I had on. Please help.
